Some EU regulators, including the European Banking Authority (EBA), are examining sales practices at larger banks. The EBA is looking at governance of sales practices, including instances where customer accounts may have been opened without explicit consent.
Complying with guidance to capture consent will impact your customer experience. If you don’t make the new experience frictionless, your customers will get frustrated; increasing abandonment rates, driving down your NPS, and negatively affecting your bottom line. Customers expect every interaction to be easy, convenient, and fast and if you can’t provide that, they will find another bank that can.
