Higher education organisations across Asia Pacific have an unspoken prerequisite to be digital leaders in addition to serving as academic centres of excellence. This is true across the three pillars of learning, research, and administration. Importantly it also extends to the academic experience. Like other industries, higher education has faced significant change in recent years from many sources and establishing this leadership reputation is proving difficult. Indeed, there are many factors to overcome in the higher education space.
TRA’s research found that the priority IT projects for higher education leaders are data centre optimisation and cloud computing, edge computing deployment, and customer improvement. Notably, 85% have used or are using cloud computing today and over 70% are happy with the outcomes they have achieved.
