Given the growth in the use of cryptocurrency because of emerging technologies like the metaverse and Web3, ransomware actors might follow the lead of nation state actor Lazarus, who not only has deployed ransomware in the past, but also earns more money by hacking cryptocurrency wallets and cryptocurrency exchanges.
